Mom’s Dream Day – May 3-May 9, 2008

Fashion Pointe, a new ladies re-sale shop in Northeast Tallahassee, and sister store Once Upon a Child will hold a week-long Mother's Dream Day Benefit for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Big Bend from Saturday May 3rd to Friday May 9th.

Fashion Pointe will kick off the week with live mini-fashion shows, door prizes, crafts for kids, and light refreshments on Saturday, May 3rd from 11:00 am- 3:00 pm.

A silent auction will coincide with the week of Mother-oriented events and activities. It will open for bidding at 9:00 am Saturday, May 3rd and will close at 7:00 pm Friday, May 9th. All proceeds from the auction will be donated to BBBS.

Professional make-up classes by Bobbi Brown Cosmetics will be held at Fashion Pointe on Tuesday and Thursday, May 6th and 8th, by reservation for only $25.

Taste Budz Café will sell convenient Home Replacement Meals on Tuesday and Thursday, May 6 and 8. Proceeds of all food sales will also benefit BBBS.

Safe Summer Challenge – June 1, 2008

Tallahassee Power Sports and Florida Safe Rider present this event, which will take place at the Safe Riding Training Center in Monticello. These companies are firm supporters of promoting motorcycle safety in our area. Tallahassee Power Sports will be providing motorcycles, dirt bikes, and four-wheelers for community members to ride in a safe and controlled environment. The Florida Highway Patrol, Tallahassee Police Department and Leon County Sheriff's Department will all be participating in the event.

The Safe Summer Challenge is free to the public and will also be a free activity for our matches. The day will host a wide variety of opportunities for novice and experienced riders. There will be contests, demo rides by professionals, and activities for kids. BBBS will receive the proceeds from raffles, food sales, and sponsorships of the event, which will be both a mentor drive and fundraiser for our agency.
